Shared Antenatal Care & Delivery

At Grove Medical, we believe that every pregnancy deserves a comprehensive and compassionate approach. Through our shared care model, you benefit from the combined expertise of your trusted GP, Dr Chieh Cheng, and specialist care from our local hospital partner, Southbank Obstetrics & Gynaecology. This collaborative approach ensures continuity of care from early pregnancy through to delivery and the postnatal period.

How Our Shared Care Model Works

A Partnership Built on Expertise

Our shared antenatal care service brings together primary care and specialist obstetric support:

  • Dr Chieh Cheng at Grove Medical: As your GP provider for antenatal care, Dr Chieh Cheng leads your early and ongoing assessments. She brings specialist knowledge to manage your routine care, address any emerging concerns, and coordinate with hospital specialists when needed.
  • Southbank Obstetrics & Gynaecology: In collaboration with our local hospital, specialise services are available when additional obstetric expertise is required. This team ensures you receive the best supportive care – whether for routine antenatal reviews or for more advanced specialist input.

A Structured, Patient-Centric Journey

  • Continuity and Communication: with shared care, your medical records and treatment plans are seamlessly coordinated between your GP and hospital specialists. This means you’re never in the dark and always have a dedicated professional looking after you.
  • Regular Reviews Tailored to Your Needs: Our care model includes regular, scheduled appointments starting early in pregnancy. Reviews occur every four weeks until 28 weeks, then every two weeks until 36 weeks, and become weekly thereafter. This schedule ensures timely monitoring and proactive management throughout your pregnancy.
  • Comprehensive Support: Beyond regular consultations, our shared care service offers:
    • Access to both GP and specialist advice
    • 24-hour cover by Dr Chieh Cheng or a specialist colleague when required
    • Coordination of necessary tests, ultrasounds and pathology
    • A clear management plan, including a one-off pregnancy management fee that supports ongoing care and emergency readiness
